JATO has 2 containers in the North Europe region which run the Librespeed Speedtest app. They may be useful when checking the connection speed to North Europe from a computer elsewhere. One container has a public ip address, the other has an internal ip address and must be accessed from the VPN or internal networks.

This page can be used to start the internet-facing Speedtest container. The container will be automatically stopped 20 minutes after starting. To start the container with the internal ip address, go to URL HERE.

First, click the 'Start Container' button.

You will see the container webhook status show 'Webhook called, waiting for response'.

After approximately 1 minute this status should be replaced by 'The container start webhook completed successfully'.

Then click the link below to go to the Speedtest website which is running in the container.

Note that if the link fails with an error message similar to 'speedtest-external-container.jato.com took too long to respond' and you are connected to the VPN, the probable reason is that our internal DNS is caching an old ip address for the container. If so, wait 5 minutes for our cache to clear then try again. Or disconnect from the VPN of course.
